The Phone in the iPhone

If you start the Phone app, you will see the numeric keypad in the function bar:

With the iPhone numeric keypad, you can enter a number you want to call.

Making a Call

To make a call, enter the phone number via the numeric keypad and then press the green button. The phone dials the number. If you enter a number that is already in your iPhone Contacts, the name of the contact will be displayed. If you want to add the entered number to an existing or new contact, tap the Contacts+ icon to the left of the green button. You can delete a number with the Backspace key to the right of the green button.

This number is already in the phone book. The contact’s name is displayed on the screen.

To end a call, press the red End key.
