Safari Books Online is a digital library providing on-demand subscription access to thousands of learning resources.
Tap the Safari icon on the Home screen to launch the iPad’s Web browser. I’m assuming you have an active Internet connection, either via Wi-Fi or cellular. If not, go back to Chapter 1 for a refresher on getting online.
Note
As soon as you try to access a Web site in Safari, the program checks for an Internet connection. If one isn’t found, the iPad asks if you want to join a nearby Wi-Fi network.
Safari opens to a new blank page, with a layout similar to what you’re accustomed to on your computer.
1. Tap the Address field.
2. Enter the address of the site you want to visit.
To quickly erase what you’ve typed and start over, tap the cancel button () at the right edge of the Address field.
As you type, Safari suggests matching URLs from your bookmarks or history in a popover (Figure 3.1).
