Acknowledgments

As I get to the end of a book project, I become more like a hermit in a cave, singularly focused on getting everything done on a tight schedule. But books can’t happen in isolation, and I was fortunate enough to have these wonderful people just outside the cave entrance, waiting with positive words and, on occasion, dessert.

This book exists because of the wonderful patience and encouragement from my wife, Kim, and my daughter, Ellie.

My editor Cliff Colby shepherded the project from the beginning, while David Van Ness, Scout Festa, and Valerie Perry put their amazing talents to work to create a high-quality finished product.

Agen G. N. Schmitz updated Chapter 7 in the previous edition of this book, and I forgot to list him in the acknowledgments then. So, just in case I blank out in the future: Agen G. N.
