8. Advanced Features

Now that you’ve got a good foundation of knowledge of the nüvi and its basic features, it’s time to dig a little deeper and investigate some advanced topics. With capabilities ranging from Bluetooth to audiobooks to FM transmission, the nüvi is a powerful minicomputer that can do a lot more than just give you turn-by-turn driving directions and find neat points of interest (POIs). You have a whole new world of advanced features to discover.

It’s important to note that many of the features discussed in this chapter aren’t available in all nüvi models. As model numbers increase, so do the price and the number of advanced features. Many of the features discussed in this chapter are available only in higher-end units.
