Google Maps is a terrific application, but it's missing one major feature that car navigation systems have: It can't talk. The Sprint Navigation application fills that void. Unlike such programs on other phones, you don't have to pay a subscription fee to use Sprint Navigation—it's included as part of your Sprint data plan. Once you get it set up, the application can use a robotic female voice to tell you where to go: "Turn left in .4 miles on Prospect St."
Tip:
You may want to keep the car radio turned down to hear the directions. Even with the Pre's volume cranked all the way up, they're sometimes difficult to hear. But they chime in fairly often, giving you plenty of warning before you have to make the next turn.
