The Skim

Early cell phones were just that—phones. Later, their capabilities began to expand to include texting, and eventually they allowed users to play simple games, take pictures, or browse web pages. Still, they were phones that could sort of act like computers. Today's smartphones, on the other hand, are portable computers first and foremost. They just happen to be computers that can, almost incidentally, make phone calls.
