Using Office Online

Sometimes you can't work from a computer that has Microsoft Office installed. Perhaps you don't even own Office at home and only use it at work or school. Thankfully, Microsoft has released the Office Online service, a suite of web applications that let you work with your Office files on the go. The following steps explain how to edit a file and viewing those edits on your phone:

  1. On your PC, go to http://office.live.com and log in with your Windows Live ID and password.
  2. A screen similar to the one shown in Figure 16–14 will appear. This demo will walk you through how to create a new Word document, so click Word under Create a new online document on the right.

  3. Windows Live asks you what to name your new file; enter a name and press Save(see Figure 16–15).
