Rescuing the Lander Mark VII

To successfully complete the Mars Base Gamma challenge, you will be required to construct a robot that will interact with the damaged Lander Mark VII. This model will be built using parts from the LEGO Education Resource Set.

The fully assembled lander is shown in Figure 7-1; note that the challenge will involve performing repairs to the lander and that various subassemblies that make up the lander will be removed to set up the challenge (described in Chapter 9).

The lander has a handful of moving parts in addition to subassemblies that can be removed. Other parts (such as the collected Martian rocks) are pieces that will not attach to the actual lander but instead collected in a small tray or box.
