14.4. Microsoft Office

The gold standard for creating and editing documents is Microsoft Office, and although your Xoom can’t rival a computer when it comes to editing, you can create, edit, and view Microsoft Office documents, using the Quickoffice app that comes on the Xoom. It’s basic and bare-bones, but it gets the job done.

Tip:

Quickoffice may not show up as an app in your App Menu, but it’s still there, ready to do its work. If you get sent an email with an Office document and open it, then Quickoffice springs into action and opens the file when you tell it to. And if you’ve downloaded an Office document as well, then when you open the document, Quickoffice springs to life.
