All the photos you sync from your computer to the iPad, take with the iPad’s camera, or save from email messages, web pages, and iPad screenshots (see the Tip on Tip) live in the Photos app. Tap its icon (represented by a happy sunflower) to open it up and see what’s there.

After you get some photos on your iPad, this app does the sorting for you. You’ll find photos that were in albums on your computer in same-named albums on your iPad. Photos you take with the iPad live in the Camera Roll album. You can also see all your pictures in a loose collection by tapping the Photos button at the top of the screen. If you have an iCloud account and have Photo Stream turned on, you can see the pictures recently taken on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or added to your computer’s Pictures library (Windows PCs) or iPhoto program (Macs) by tapping the Photo Stream button.
