Adding Photos and Images

To add a photo or image (JPEG, PNG, or GIF file) to a page, drag it from the Media Browser (click Media in the toolbar), the Finder, or another application. Or choose Insert > Choose (Shift+Command+V).

The same standard manipulations that apply to objects also apply to photos (to move a photo, drag it; to resize a photo, drag its selection handles; and so on). You also have photo-specific tools that let you mask (nondestructively crop) a photo or change its brightness, contrast, opacity, background (alpha), and other qualities. To do so, click the Mask button Image or the Adjust Image button Image in the format bar, or choose Format > Image > Option (Figure 6.6). (If the format bar is hidden, choose View > Show Format Bar or press Shift+Command+R.)
