Safari Books Online is a digital library providing on-demand subscription access to thousands of learning resources.
To add a photo or image (JPEG, PNG, or GIF file) to a page, drag it from the Media Browser (click Media in the toolbar), the Finder, or another application. Or choose Insert > Choose (Shift+Command+V).
The same standard manipulations that apply to objects also apply to photos (to move a photo, drag it; to resize a photo, drag its selection handles; and so on). You also have photo-specific tools that let you mask (nondestructively crop) a photo or change its brightness, contrast, opacity, background (alpha), and other qualities. To do so, click the Mask button or the Adjust Image button
in the format bar, or choose Format > Image > Option (Figure 6.6). (If the format bar is hidden, choose View > Show Format Bar or press Shift+Command+R.)
