Adding shapes to a book is useful for inserting geometric or custom graphics, breaking up text, adding color or flair, labeling or calling out items, and more. You can
• Add predrawn shapes from a gallery of circles, rectangles, stars, arrows, speech bubbles, and more.
• Add text to predrawn shapes.
• Draw a custom shape.
• Edit a shape.
To add a predrawn shape to a page, choose a shape from the Shapes pop-up menu in the toolbar (Figure 6.7).

To add text to a predrawn shape, click the shape to make the insertion point appear and then type.
Some types of shapes have controls that let you customize them easily. Controls appear on a selected shape itself or in a small pop-up window. You can use sliders, circular controls, and blue editing points to do any of the following:
