Adding Tables

Tables in iBooks Author are similar to tables in Pages or Word. They even have a few spreadsheetlike features, such as cell formulas and conditional formatting.

To add a table to a page, click Table in the toolbar or choose Insert > Table (Figure 6.10).

To customize a table, do any of the following:

• To resize the table, drag one of the selection handles around its perimeter. To resize proportionally, Shift-drag. To resize from the table’s center, Option-drag.

• To resize individual rows and columns, drag their borders, choose Format > Table > Distribute commands, or use the Table Inspector. To show the Table Inspector, click Inspector in the toolbar (press Option+Command+I) and then click the Table Inspector button .
