Emailing Your Book

iBooks Author is friendly with OS X Mail (choose Applications > Mail), letting you email your book directly from iBooks Author. If you don’t use OS X Mail, you can email your book the old-fashioned way: Export it and then attach it to an email message.

To email a book, open it in iBooks Author, choose Share > Send via Mail, and then choose one of the following options:

• iBooks Author for Mac. Creates an iBooks Author document (.iba file). To open the file, the recipient’s Mac must be running iBooks Author and OS X 10.7 (Lion) or later.

• iBooks for iPad. Creates an iBooks document (.ibooks file). To open the book, the recipient can tap the file in Mail on an iPad or drag the file to an iTunes window on a computer and then sync the book to an iPad. The recipient’s iPad must be running iBooks 2 or later and iOS 5 or later.
