Lesson 16. Creating a Blog and Podcast > Adding Text to the Page

Adding Text to the Page

There are two text blocks on the page that need formatting. The first is a title; the second is the body copy for the page.

1.
Double-click the text block containing “Welcome to my site.”

2.
Type Welcome to MommyCast into the text block.

Let’s change the font so the text matches the style of the page better.

3.
Press Command-A to select all of the text in the block.

4.
Click the Fonts button in the toolbar.

5.
Choose Comic Sans MS, Bold to stylize the page.

Let’s update the main text block by dragging and dropping.

6.
Switch to the Finder and open the Lesson_16 folder, then open the Web Page Text folder and select the file We are MommyCast.txt.

7.
Drag the text file onto the large text block.

The new text is added to the page. You can format it so it’s easier to read.

8.
Double-click the large text block and press Command-A to select all of its text.

9.
In the Font panel choose Comic Sans MS, Regular, 18 pt.

10.
Open the Colors window by clicking the Colors button in the toolbar.

11.
Change the text color to a very dark gray.

12.
Choose Edit > Deselect All.

13.
Press Command-S to save your work.
