Firewall Alerts

Firewall alerts look a lot like program alerts but provide information about incoming packets that appear threatening to your computer. There are two types of firewall alerts: Cautious and Urgent.

Cautious Firewall Alerts

A cautious alert indicates the occurrence of an event that is deemed as potentially threatening but not immediately threatening to your computer. Figure 8.24 shows a cautious alert. Its heading is displayed in orange. Its information includes the source IP address and transport protocol as well as the date and time that the event occurred.
