Editing and managing masks

When working with layer masks or adjustment layers, 100% of black hides, 100% of white reveals, and percentages of either black or white provide blends. You can edit your mask in other ways, too.

Using brush modes to paint on masks

Typically, masks are adjusted using one of the paint tools in a Normal blending mode, or perhaps with some opacity applied. However, you can also use your brush tools in other blending modes.
