Soft-proofing an image

Prior to color-separating an image or converting it to the output destination space, it’s helpful to proof the conversion on your monitor—called soft-proofing—to see how the document’s colors will reproduce. Both Photoshop and Illustrator have tools that let you soft-proof your color document, so you can assess its color appearance in any device space that has a corresponding ICC profile. Any tool that can help you anticipate and prevent color-matching problems in the production cycle is worth investigating!

Now you will learn to configure the Proofing options in Photoshop.
