At one time, Illustrator (back in version 1.1) was black and white only. Then, Illustrator 88 introduced color features. Of course, back then, few designers could even afford to buy a color monitor. Technology eventually caught up, and color plays a huge role in a graphic designer’s life today. We now take for granted the ability to add color and manipulate it, view it accurately on a monitor, and give life to artwork with it, but the challenges of working with color are still present.
