Listen and trust your intuition

The Arctic Tern is a bird that lives seven degrees south of the North Pole and once a year flies 23,000 incredible miles back to its starting point. With a homing instinct like that it needs no fancy SatNav. Its instinct tells it where to go and how to get there. Humans too have an inbuilt ability to find our way through life and to home in on what is happening around us. Think of it as a radar, not something you can fit on a spreadsheet.

A small village in central Europe invited a rabbi famous for his wisdom to visit them. For weeks the local Jewish population debated what issues to raise with him, what conflicts they wanted resolved, what advice to ask for. Finally the rabbi arrived and everyone gathered to welcome him. He stood silent, becoming fully present, taking in his surroundings, sensing the atmosphere. Instead of speaking he began to dance. He danced and danced and soon everyone was doing the same. When everyone had danced themselves to a standstill, in the panting silence that followed, the rabbi quietly asked: ‘Any more questions?’
