There are lots of times, of course, when men and women have to be relatively androgynous in their leadership goals and capabilities—they each have to do what the other does. But there are also many times when a man or a woman is just better suited for the immediate “moment” the executive team is facing.

Tapping into these different assets has been proven to work in a number of companies—income growth, workplace productivity, and team cohesion improve. The companies make more money. Men and women don’t lead the same way, and a corporation needs both assets, especially as the world economy goes global.
