As the adage goes, burdens shared are halved, and joys shared are doubled. Over time, the joy of collaboration may get interrupted by the need to look good, the fear of losing status by being too open, or by the notion that a friend is a foe who wants what you have. When you watch a crew work a boat in rough waters, throwing the sail back and forth as the winds change, you see a team operating out of incredible interconnectivity. People know what they are to do, and they support each other. They are doing their part and seeing the whole picture at the same time. They are responsive to unexpected shifts and turns and are able to redirect themselves when currents change.
