Content is the foundation of your vision, and developing that content is our focus in this guidebook. Our research shows that the way the content is communicated matters too. Of course, the bestcrafted vision will have no value if it is not shared, discussed, and brought to life within the organization. Your ability to communicate the vision is essential for it to be effective. In addition, your ability to communicate the vision is linked to the way others see you—which has implications for your ability to do your job today and for your career in the long term.
In this guidebook, we do not go into great depth about communicating your vision (for that, we refer you to another CCL Press guidebook, Communicating Your Vision by Talula Cartwright and David Baldwin). Here we briefly mention five articulation factors that contribute to having a strong vision and the perception others have of your leadership effectiveness.
