Introduction > 4.1. Comparing Predictions with Actual Staffing Numbers

4.1. Comparing Predictions with Actual Staffing Numbers

The previous steps were used to compute the predicted staffing for the current year. This information can then be compared to the number of actual corporate employees. In the study, the staffing numbers generated were very close to 7% difference to the current corporate staffing level. This was done for a large organization with numerous different branches and locations for employees. On a regional or department level, there were greater differences in the results (see Table 12).

Potential reasons for variances in the level predictions could include the following:

• Overlap of work.

• Overtime reported on the survey.

• Time of year that the activities were measured.
