Where Does the Line Manager Fit In?

The line manager plays a vital role in the management of stress at work. A line manager's support is necessary to drive forward any stress management approach, be it preventative, training or supportive. Table 3.1 describes some of the roles and responsibilities that the line manager can take in supporting the approaches to stress management.
