FUTURE RESEARCH

The limited breadth of this chapter highlights the need for greater research in a variety of areas, namely foundational research on the value of in- world education, research, and therapy, the means by which to systematically leverage real world resources and develop partnerships, measuring complex qualitative and quantitative data, implications of privacy and security limitations, and more concise guidelines on navigating through available in-world resources. As ERPs continue to migrate toward the medium, and with greater availability of funding and hosting institutions, these topics will likely be addressed in the near future.
