Faultless Facilitation: The New Complete... > Chapter 11: Process Improvement - Pg. 187

11 Process Improvement What Is Process Improvement? As its name suggests, this method is designed to improve a process. A process is a series of independent procedures to complete some fundamental business operation or task. The simplest process may consist of only a few steps. Sometimes, the process is linear, with one step following another from beginning to end. A flow chart graphically shows each step in the process, often using symbols, boxes, and arrows. The flow chart's documentation facilitates the examination of each step with the identification of places that need elimination, combining, or improvement. For example, the steps for obtaining office supplies could be mapped and diagnosed.
