123 Chapter 11 Audioconference Meetings What They Are Participants at different locations conduct a meeting by phone. This saves people the time and cost of having to travel in order to attend a meeting. (See the next chapter for details on equipment for audioconferences.) Audioconferences are appropriate for short meetings that can be held without visual interaction. Possible applications include: · Participants sit at their desks and communi- cate through a conference call. This allows a widely diverse group to meet without using special (and expensive) facilities.
