Sample Lab Topology

There are nearly an endless number of possibilities when building a lab. In this chapter, a sample lab topology is provided and discussion, testing, and configuration points are made based on it.

In Figure 12-1, a logical view of the sample lab topology is shown. It is a logical view because some components shown in the diagram are a single device that has been logically separated to fill a role in different places (Layer 2 switch through VLANs). Also, a single physical host (server hardware) has been virtualized to provide virtual machines (VM) in different parts of the network.
