Your company has terminated an employee who owned a high-value certificate and private key. You want to revoke that certificate to help ensure that it is not improperly used in the future.
Open the Certification Authority MMC snap-in (certsrv.msc) on the CA that issued the certificate. You can also specify the name of the CA when you add the Certification Authority snap-in to the MMC console.
Double-click the CA name.
Click Issued Certificates.
Find the certificate you want (see Recipe 18.14 for hints on this process).
Right-click the certificate, click All Tasks, and then click Revoke Certificate.
Provide a reason in the Reason code drop-down, and then click Yes.
