B.5. 10BASE5 Configuration Guidelines

The Ethernet standard contains guidelines for building a single 10BASE5 thick coax segment, as well as guidelines for linking multiple segments into a larger half-duplex system. Table 2.1 lists the single segment guidelines for a 10BASE5 segment. The configuration rules for linking multiple 10 Mbps segment types with repeater hubs are described in Chapter 13.
