12.7. Using the Multilevel Desktop
A multilevel desktop, as shown in Figure 12.6, enables you to log in once, and then use different workspaces for activities that require different levels of access. For example, you can log in at the label PUBLIC, set your clearance label to RESTRICTED, and create workspaces at all labels from PUBLIC to RESTRICTED. In a labeled network, a NEED TO KNOW workspace would receive different emails than a workspace at PUBLIC. Your access in a NEED TO KNOW workspace would be different from that in a PUBLIC workspace.
