Defining the Standard Working Days and Times

When you install Microsoft Project, there are default settings for the start and end of the working day and a Standard calendar to define the working days and the working hours in each day:

• The default start of the working day is 8:00 a.m. and the default end of the working day is 5:00 p.m.

• The Standard calendar defines Mondays through Fridays as working days.

• The hours available for work on Mondays through Fridays are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This schedule provides a one-hour break in the middle of the day.

• Saturdays and Sundays are nonworking days.
