An account you can purchase that is serviced by an investment company to raise money from stocks, bonds, and so on. You can sell mutual funds at any time, but the price of a share in a mutual fund changes daily, depending upon the performance of the securities held by the fund. There are many types of mutual funds, each providing different risks and benefits.
