Leads and Lags

After adding resources and adding estimates, you can now see how leads and lags affect the end dates in your schedule. In Chapter 5 you saw how leads and lags can make your schedule more practical. As a reminder, here’s the definitions of leads and lags:

  • Lead: When a successor task can start before the finish of the predecessor task, in essence, creating a head start for the successor task.

  • Lag: When a successor task should be delayed after the finish of the predecessor task, creating a delay for the successor task.
