The most common type of form field is a button—so common, in fact, that in Acrobat 9, the Button tool is included on the Advanced Editing toolbar.

Buttons aren’t the only type of common action feature used in PDF files. Links can be set using a variety of elements, including text or images. Although Bookmarks display in the Bookmarks pane, they also function as a type of link since they respond to the “Go to a page view” action, taking you wherever you want to go within a given document.
