Chapter 8. Building Word Tables



If you have data that consists of a list of items, each with several details – for example, a parts list or class roster – you candisplay that data in an organized fashion by using a table. This is a rectangular structure where each item in the list gets its own horizontal rectanglecalled a row; each set of details in the list gets its own vertical rectangle called a column; and the rectangle formed by the intersection of a row and a column is called a cell, and you use the table cells to hold the data. A Word table is similar to an Excel worksheet or a databasetable.
