Acknowledgments - Pg. xxiii

Acknowledgments I'd like to thank my wife for supporting me through various projects over the past couple years -- especially this book. I also need to thank my son, Connor, for being my little buddy and sneaking out to "help" me write this book when he should've been sleeping. I'm also grateful for my sunny little daughter, Finley, who routinely smashed the keyboard to let me know that I should've been paying more attention to her. I'm also thankful for all our current dogs (Peanut, Skye, and Fergie) and our beloved Shani who isn't with us any longer. I owe more to my parents, Steve and Dolores Driza, than they can possibly know. I'm also indebted to my brother, Steve Driza, and my sister, Sue Fadden, and their spouses and children. They have helped me tremendously. This book is the result of extensive collaboration with Tae Chung. He picked up the torch and turned a large pile of notes, half-written chapters, and images into a cohesive book. Tae is responsible for everything good about the book. Any mistakes or omissions are my responsibility. Beth Kohler and Tim McEvoy have been great to work with and I can only hope to be lucky enough to work with them again in the future. The most credit for the material covered in this book belongs to Melvin Helfand (the father of modern Word pro- gramming). His innovative thoughts and our close working relationship through the years showed me what is possible with a bit of creativity and persistence. Special thanks to Carl Bucaro, who has assisted me on a variety of Word-related projects over the years. I've also had the pleasure of knowing some incredible people in the technology arena: Tim Probst, John Lind, Richard Astle, Stephen Haynes, Bayard Woodworth, Ted Yates, Harry Kimura, Dr. William Sun, Joe Chang, Binh Li, Jason Williams, and Bill Gravelle. xxv
