I'd like to thank all of my family and friends for their support while I wrote this book. It has been an especially long journey that began over a year ago. Release 5 was initially scheduled to come out at the beginning of 1998. While the resulting code from Lotus was worth the wait, multiple betas and changing user interfaces are especially difficult for authors because each change means another rewrite.

I want to thank my wife Mari for her support not only during this effort, but all the time. I'm proud of my son, Eric, who is not only doing great in school, but well on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout.

The co-authors of this book have also put in a lot of time and effort toward the success of this book and it is evident throughout. I'd like to thank them for all of their contributions because without them, this book would not be possible.

Sean Dixon was the development editor for this project, and although he joined the project after it had already started, he did a good job in keeping everything moving. Karen Fishwich, the technical editor, did an outstanding job of improving the accuracy of the book. Although I will take responsibility for all errors remaining in the book, Karen was a great help in finding inconsistencies and helping to debug the book.
