Using Sametime in a Collaborative Learning Environment

To give you a flavor of what Sametime is all about, I want to walk you through a recent learning experience I had. It shows one way that Sametime can be implemented. The Sametime server runs on a separate machine from the Domino server, but it takes advantage of many of the Domino and Notes tools to elevate the possibilities of groupware computing. I went through a session using Sametime, so I will give you a taste of what Sametime collaboration is all about.

I signed up for a seminar on how to use the DataBeam server. Lotus acquired DataBeam, and the server is now known as the Sametime server. The session was to be held at 1:00 p.m. EST, which is 7:00 a.m. in Hawaii, where I live.
