Folder with Custom Expiration Date Does Not Recognize Retention Date

Symptom: The user has created one or more folders and has set a custom expiration date for mail messages. However, Lotus Notes does not appear to recognize the custom expiration date and mail is still being flagged for possible deletion.

Analysis: This problem will occur when an alias name has been assigned to the folder name. An alias is an alternate name for the folder—like a nickname for a person.
