11.3. Compiling for a Target Architecture

In designing applications, you may or may not know what kind of system will run them. On HP-UX systems, you can use specific compiler options to indicate either a specific architecture or a range of architectures. You can specify either the model number as returned from the uname command or the PA revision number. Refer to the file /opt/langtools/lib.sched.models for a list of HP 9000 systems.

Two particular options are of use in specifying the architecture: +DA and +DS.
