Burning Data CDs and DVDs

A CD and DVD burner is a great way to make data backups (especially if it’s a rewriteable), save and share your digital photos, put together multimedia memento scrapbooks, and more. Many tools are available that allow you to burn CDs under Linux, but you can also burn CDs and DVDs by using the Nautilus. Just right-click the file you want to burn, and choose the proper options from the context menu.

However, you may want to use K3b if you want to get fancy. If you don’t have it installed yet, see Chapter 16 for how to do so — the specific packages you want are k3b and k3b-extras. To open it, go to ApplicationsSound & VideoK3b. When you launch this tool, you see the window shown in Figure 8-7.
