Part III gets to work by acquainting you with the primary Ubuntu desktop applications, such as word processing, Internet browsers, and e‐mail clients. Chapters 11 and 12 look at the GNOME graphical desktop environment and its features. Chapter 14 covers using the ground‐breaking Mozilla Firefox Web browser. In Chapter 15, I tell you about using the Evolution e‐mail client. Chapter 16 is close to my heart, as it describes using the Microsoft Word–compatible OpenOffice.org Writer, as well as other programs that come with Ubuntu.
