Chapter 11. Going Cross-Platform > Installing a Guest OS in Xen

Installing a Guest OS in Xen

Once the server is set up, go back to YaST. In the System page, the Virtual Machine Management (Xen) module awaits your configuration. When the Manage Virtual Machines screen comes up, click Add. If you have a disk image to apply to the Xen server, that’s an option. For this example, however, you’ll do a new installation.

Review the default settings for your Xen guest installation on the Virtual Machine (Installation Settings) screen. As with the other virtual machine packages, you have to define the size of the virtual partition, how much memory it will use, your network card settings, and identify where your OS installation program is located (ISO images, CD/DVD, or network installation). You should name the guest machine as well. If you are installing from DVD, put the disk in the drive before clicking Next.
