DNS Standards that Support Active Directory

Active Directory can work without implementing Window 2000 DNS. The must-have requirement for Active Directory is support for service records (SRVs). This is supported in implementation of BIND 4.9.6. The nice-to-have requirement is support for dynamic update. This is supported by BIND 8.X., BIND 8.2.1, and later releases, which are the preferred DNS implementations.
