Chapter 1. The Importance of a Domain

I would assume since you're reading this book you already know you need a domain and are looking for advice and guidance on the best configuration for your environment. (If you have not bought the book and are just reading at the book shop you're taking food from my child's mouth and should stop now).

Usually people don't realize the full potential of a domain and exactly what it can offer their organization. Many times the Active Directory is simply used as a replacement for an NT 4 SAM domain without offering any additional benefits but we will discuss that in much more detail throughout this book.
