Recipe 9.23. Configuring Loopback Processing for a GPO
9.23.1. Problem
You want to configure a GPO to use loopback processing that will enforce consistent computer settings regardless of which user logs on to a computer.
9.23.2. Solution
9.23.2.1. Using a graphical user interface
Navigate to the GPO that you want to configure. Right-click on the GPO and select Edit Settings.
Navigate to Computer Configuration→System→Group Policy. Double-click on “User Group Policy loopback processing mode.” Select the radio button next to Enabled.
In the Mode drop-down box, select either Merge or Replace. (See Section 9.23.3 of this recipe for more information on these two options.)
Click OK.
