    Implementing AD FS

    After choosing an AD FS design, you will implement AD FS by installing and configuring the AD FS components on computers running Windows Server 2008. This section describes how to deploy and configure federation servers, federation server proxies, and AD FS–enabled Web servers. It also describes the different types of AD FS applications (claims-aware and Windows NT token-based) and describes how to implement each type of application.

    Note

    This section describes how to deploy AD FS in the Federated Web SSO design. This deployment option is the most complicated scenario that includes the maximum number of AD FS components. The actual components that you require and the way you configure them depend on the AD FS design.
