Chapter 8: Working with Sales

The Sales area in Microsoft Dynamics CRM is where you work with current and prospective customers. Here you manage Leads and Opportunities, and where the only workflow other than the Knowledge Base approval process is included with Microsoft Dynamics CRM by default. The workflow is presented via the Lead conversion process when a user selects Convert Lead from the top menu. The Lead is either qualified and converted to a customer, or disqualified and deactivated.

image Other sections in the Sales area such as Accounts, Contacts, are explained in Chapter 6, “Working with Customers.” Marketing Lists, Sales Literature, and Quick Campaigns are included in Chapter 9, “Working with Marketing.” Therefore, these topics are not covered in this chapter.
